The Potters Wheel is a friendly and traditional English Pub and restaurant, conveniently close to the Newcastle/Gateshead metropolitan area, yet right on the edge of some of Britain's finest countryside. We have a large car park and covered outdoor drinking area, as well as plenty of space indoors, including a separate dining area. Families are more than welcome and as well as fine beers, lagers and guest real ales, we offer a large and varied menu of lovingly prepared, well presented, home cooked food at excellent value for money.

The Potters Wheel is located at the western end of the village of Sunniside, at the junction of the A692 (Lobley Hill Road) & A6076 (to Stanley) and about 5 minutes from the A1 (Lobley Hill Exit). We are conveniently located for many local attractions, such as The Tanfield Railway (1 mile), Beamish Museum (4 Miles), Gibside (4 miles) & Team Valley Retail Park (4 miles) and as such, we make an ideal stop-off point, during or after your family day out in the North East countryside.

The team at The Potters Wheel, pride themselves on providing both a friendly and warm environment for you to enjoy yourselves, be it on your own or with friends and loved ones. Whether you're looking for great pint, or a hearty, great value meal (or both of course), The Potters Wheel will not disappoint. If you've never been before, we genuinely believe and hope you will enter as a customer and leave as a friend.
